Pittyvaich’s only clocked in a sliver of time in the history books—the distillery was opened in and closed in Which, oddly enough, means that the Whisky it produced has more years on it than the actual distillery/10(4).
I bought two bottles of the Flora & Fauna Pittyvaich 12 before they obviously discontinued it. I planned to open one immediately and drink the other in a few years all being well. Well after opening the first bottle I immediately realised why the distillery had closed; the whisky was horrifying. Simply the most ashy, dry and bitter whisky I'd. A bottling of Scotch Whisky containing spirit distilled at the Pittyvaich distillery which has been matured for no less than 12 years in oak casks.
